Fashion brand Balenciaga has received much backlash since their controversial ads in which children posed with stuffed animals in bondage. A host of conspiracy theories began swirling around the internet after it was discovered that a printed-out copy of the child pornography laws was slipped into the foreground of one of the photographs. People are speculating that they’re dropping hints about the child abuse, exploitation, and perhaps even child trafficking going on behind the scenes.
Balenciaga wants you to believe that their pedophilic ad campaign was an “accident.”

This is Lotta Volkova, their Chief Designer. pic.twitter.com/bINF8uoLuw
On November 27th and 28th, tweets by @jakeshieldsajj and @SebGorka addressing the child abuse allegations have gone viral, claiming that this photograph of a model in dramatic red garb holding a red baby in each arm, hands stained with “blood” is Balenciaga’s Chief Designer Lotta Volkova. The implication being: are you surprised? Look at the kind of stuff she’s done in the past.
Just two seconds of Google searching reveals these tweets to be total bullshit. This woman is not Lotta Volkova but a model for award-winning Chinese Dutch designer Hu Sheguang. The photograph was taken during a showing of a China Fashion Week collection. This woman is not affiliated with Balenciaga whatsoever.
So, there you have it. Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.
